DJI Avata 2 vs Avata 360: Which FPV Drone Is Right for You?
Classic FPV flying or 8K 360° capture? We compare the DJI Avata 2 and Avata 360 on camera, flight time, ease of use and who each one suits.

The DJI Avata 2 and Avata 360 are both FPV drones you fly with goggles and the RC Motion 3, but they film in very different ways.
Quick verdict
- Choose the Avata 2 for classic cinematic FPV: dives, flips and fly-throughs with a lighter, simpler drone.
- Choose the Avata 360 if you want to capture everything around you and pick the angle later.
Camera
The Avata 2 has a single 1/1.3-inch camera shooting 4K/60fps HDR with a wide 155° view. The Avata 360 uses two 1/1.1-inch sensors to record 8K/60fps HDR 360° video and 120 MP 360° photos, and can switch to a single-lens 4K mode.
With the Avata 360 you don't have to aim the camera while flying: you reframe in editing, so one flight over Jounieh bay or a mountain road gives you many different shots.
Flight and handling
- Avata 2: about 377 g and up to about 23 minutes per battery, with one-push flips and rolls (Easy ACRO).
- Avata 360: about 455 g and up to about 23 minutes per battery, with omnidirectional sensing in 360° mode and forward LiDAR.
The Avata 2 feels more agile. The Avata 360 is heavier but safer around obstacles in 360° mode.
Who should buy which?
- Avata 2: hobby FPV pilots, travel videos, action and sports clips.
- Avata 360: wedding and event videographers, real estate, tourism content, and anyone who hates missing the shot.
Accessories you'll want
Both benefit from protection frames and landing gear. The Avata 360 needs side protection for its two lenses. See Avata 2 accessories and Avata 360 accessories.
